Building 1 Week Sites from Zero to ChatGPT-Cited in 30 Days

Overview

I built 1 Week Sites, my own web design and SEO agency, from scratch. The project involved creating a full website using Next.js, implementing comprehensive SEO and GEO strategies, and developing pSEO content. The website went live in one week, with optimization results measured over the following 30 days.

The Challenge

I was starting from absolute zero. No website, no SEO presence, no blog content, and no visibility on ChatGPT or other LLMs. The goal was to drive organic traffic to generate inquiries and sales, but without any web presence, that was impossible.

The Strategy

I started from the ground up, establishing my ICP, brand tone of voice, branding colors, and offer. Then I built out a wireframe for the site while establishing keywords and pSEO strategy. I used Next.js, Tailwind, and TypeScript to build the website. For the SEO side, I leveraged DataForSEO and Claude to develop my SEO, GEO, and pSEO plan. I crafted SEO and GEO optimized blog articles and built out a glossary section.

The Results

In just under 30 days, I achieved 566 impressions and got one of my blog articles cited on ChatGPT. While these are early metrics, getting cited by an AI model within the first month validated my GEO optimization approach.

Key Takeaway

Websites don't need to take months to build with the utilization of AI, but remember not to keep it sloppy. Make it unique. And remember that GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is needed in a digital marketing strategy now — it's not just about Google anymore.
